A cover design for a real magic book is a challenge. Because a magic book is not just about the words inside, but a magic book is a magical *object* in its own right - a tool for magic, an energy generater, an imprinter and also an MEMEM, to be used in actual magic.
So apart from the challenge of, "Does it look right?" this kind of structural design also needs to feel right, and "magic right" for the want of a better word.
9 Fish Symbol Hybrid Painting.
Calming, relaxing and hypnotic, designed to bring a flow of wealth and opportunity into the home in which it is displayed. Excellent for calming wealth meditations, follow the lines with your eyes and note the energy shifts that occur.
Nothing says "I love you!" quite like a bespoke library press featuring my favourite design, Dragon Rising.
Arrived today, I'm very pleased with it indeed :-)
A magic symbol painting, evoking the power of snake.
Snake is Power, Life force, Sexual Potency; but also the mysterious, magic, the otherworldly, and of course, snake is the symbol for healing, and rising enlightenment.
Inspirational photo Cheers! by Starfields - a magic chalice filled with a sparkling liquid in the sunshine ...
Goddess energy magic symbol painting.
Goddess evokes the power of the female, both as a practical manifestation of the Goddess on and in Earth, but also as the energy of goddess, the deep knowing of ancient secrets, other worlds and wider time.
Two Dragons painting for a wedding gift. The 2 dragons form a heart.
There is also a poem on the back.
Inner child and art therapy, magic art, energy art, totem making, well, the 14 books write themselves, don't they?
Does a picture say more than a thousand words on the topic of The Inner Child?
You be the judge of that ...
Went to visit an exhibition of 60 cast-iron life size replicas of Antony Gormley at the De La Warr Pavilion. Antony Gormley being responsible for The Angel of the North.
Some photos were taken and one inspired me to do a little post processing in photoshop.
Sometimes I find geometrical mandala type designs very soothing.
And what could be more soothing than the magical energy flow in a pyramid?
Asked to create an image to represent the human energy body, I thought that's a challenge.
You have to be very careful when you're illustrating things that cannot be seen; you are making a visual metaphor and if that's wrong, people can get the wrong end of the stick so easily ...
Very happy to announce that we are having an exhibition of my energy art in conjunction with the 8th EmoTrance conference at the Europa Hotel, Gatwick, on Saturday, 24th April, from 5pm.
On display will be 36 pieces of formative art solutions paintings and sculptures. All welcome!
Update 1: Added a short video taken at the exhibition - May 6th, 2010
Update 2: Added Online Catalogue of Energy Art exhibition here.
Whilst doing work on the transfer of my magic site, I came across this picture for the front cover of the soul pilots book.
This was really one of those things. It is challenging to make things simple, childish, childlike and have the guts to stay with that. The Soul Pilot is a really childish, simple line drawing and yet it is perhaps the only one of all the works of art I've done that has the power to move me to tears when I tune into it.
So it is Easter ... one has to decorate an egg. What kind of egg? A space egg!
What should I put on it? Genius Symbols, of course!
Now all you have to do is wonder what's inside ...
Lucky Hans, or Hans Im Glück as the Germans say, is an archetype that relates to the Fool in the Tarot card.
Lucky Hans strides out with a bundle on his stick, to find his fortune, make his luck, free from all worry, fear and responsibility, enjoying life to the full.
I was looking for the very iconic image of Lucky Hans this morning and couldn't find anything I liked so I decided to make my own Hans im Glück picture instead.
There has been a lot of talk about manifesting in the hard recently and in general, the idea of something that originates in one dimension, taking that transformational trip to manifest in an other.
Either way, here we have a visitor from a light dimension, coming to a neighbourhood near you - there's a starman waiting in the sky ...
A new website, needs a new logo - and unlike so many other people, I'm not afraid of the obvious.
There are times and places where the obvious is exactly what the witch doctor ordered, so there can be communication, understanding, information transmission.
In this case, we have a website called I SAW HAT DOT COM. And the logo is an eye - a big eye, at that.
From mundane design to word art - poem to paper, and eventually, a meditation on transience.
Art doesn't let itself be confined into arbitrary categories. I think today was a major reminder of that ...
The Space Squid is one of three symbol paintings that all happened very quickly within the spate of two days. I'm not giving the set up away; suffice to say it had really nothing to do with space squids.
And in the "swan" orientation, it's quite a different story ...
One of those images that turned up out of the clear blue sky - it was just there, complete with a story, worshipping at the temple of the sun, well you can imagine what was going on there!
LOL ...
